Children's Drop-In Learning Center
Located in the heart of Lake Forest, the Gorton Children’s Drop-In Learning Center (DILC) serves as an “as-needed” home away from home for little ones while you do what you need to do – for a few hours, or a few days a week!
Open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Children’s Drop-In Learning Center is a 30 year-old membership-based program that offers flexible, early childhood care, education, and summer camp activities for children ages six weeks to five years. Each year, children from 200 area families enjoy this nurturing, safe, convenient, and fun environment that boasts nearly 2,100 square feet of brightly colored childcare space spread over three classrooms and a private, updated playground for all ages.
When your child attends the Drop-In Learning Center, he/she wil be placed in a classroom with a warm caring staff and children in their age group. Our classrooms are divided by age, infants to 23 months (maximum 12 children to 3 adults), 2 year olds (maximum 16 children with 2 adults), and 3 through 5 year olds (maximum 19 children with 2 adults). All age groupings and ratios are kept in accordance to DCFS rules and regulations to ensure safety.
