League of Improv Heros
You've experienced Second City Chicago and are familiar with Whose Line Is It Anyway? but you didn't realize you could see professional Improv right here in your own backyard! We've got Chicago's very own Jimmy Carrane, renouned for his work in this genre, curating a spectacular evening of short form games and scenic improv with the League of Improv Heros.
Jimmy Carrane is a Chicago based teacher and performer, is the host of the podcast Improv Nerd and instructor of his award-winning Art of slow Comedy classes that run nationally. He was a founding member of the Annoyance Theater and enjoys a long history with Second City Chicago and iO Chicago. Jimmy has harnessed the talent of League of Improv Heros to perform for us. Be dazzled as this troupe brilliantly plays with short form games and scenic improv in the wonderfully intimate setting of our Stuart Community room.
Experience the best Improvisational comedy of your life with League of Improv Heros. Featuring Second City teachers and alumnae, this troupe is sure to entertain. Daily Herald's Scott Morgan sums it up best, "Local residents have earned the right to be a bit smug when it comes to boasting about Chicago's impact on comedy. After all, famous comedians like Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Bill Murray and Wheaton's Belushi brothers honed their comic chops in Chicago-area sketch or improvisational comedy theaters like The Second City." Come experience this sizzling genre right here at Gorton!
