The end of the school year can feel like roaring down the final incline of a roller coaster. Extra credit! Activities! Exams! And then summer hits, and for several months, our kids’ minds chug-chug-chug along. This summer, turn those chugs into sparks with a Sylvan STEM Academy Summer Camp.

Your child will enjoy either a half day of STEM and education based activities.  Choose from an  AM camp (9:30am-12:30pm) or a PM camp (1:30pm-4:30pm.)

Camps will run Monday through Thursday and students will be separated into two age (grade) groups: K-3 or 4-6

Your child's day will consist of 1 hour of Lego Robotics, a dive into engineering that allows students to create animated robots out of Lego pieces, 1 hour of Tynker Coding & Game Design, a gamified entry into programming that allows your child's imagination to create real live video games they can play with their friends, and 1 hour of education based material revolving around math or reading to ensure your child doesn't fall victim to summer learning loss.

Robotics:  Kids work in pairs to build and program robots while learning science and engineering concepts. Using LegoTM Education’s WeDo® Software, the children bring their robots to life and then finish with friendly competitions and games.

Coding:  A hands-on class, kids use TynkerTM technology to learn programming and create real web apps that run on any browser.  Children develop confidence with technology while learning storytelling, planning, design and problem solving.
Math Enrichment: Self-paced, workbook program designed to develop math fluency through problem solving, puzzles and word problems.  Each class includes a group “Brain Buster” game, focused on logic and reasoning.  Content is aligned to Common Core Standards.
