Mission Statement
For over 58 years the Deer Path Art League has served to encourage community interest and personal involvement in the visual arts. Our mission is to spark, nurture and enhance creativity as well as to raise awareness and appreciation of the arts in the community.
Art Gallery in Gorton Community Center
Hours: M-F, 10am-4pm, Saturdays by appointment.
The gallery curates eight shows per year providing a market place for fine artists working in a variety of media. All works in the Gallery are available for purchase. Shop “The Gift Gallery” in the Deer Path Art League Gallery for one-of-a-kind, artist-created gifts. Art League Members receive 10% off.
Art Technique Classes
Year round, low cost art classes for children, adults and seniors in Lake Forest and surrounding communities.
Art Fair on the Square
This juried, fine art show will celebrate its 58th anniversary on Labor Day weekend in Lake Forest Market Square. Ranked in the top 100 in the country, the event attracts over 20,000 attendees, is free to the public and celebrates the individual artisan.
Art Class Outreach, North Chicago Middle School
A twice monthly after school art class conducted jointly with North Chicago Community Partners and the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County.
Fine Arts Scholarship
Presented annually to a Lake Forest High School senior who intends to study art in college.
